Today, you are learning about a type of symbolism known as an archetype.
Look at the packet I left you. All of these things are frequently used to symbolize certain ideas in literature. (I bet you will never watch a movie the same way again!)
Watch The Lion King. This movie is just full of archetypes! On a piece of notebook paper, jot down every archetype you see. How many can you find???
Turn your paper in to the sub BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I want to see who can get the most legitimate archetypes from the movie!

Remember those layer 2 and 3 questions from last time? Have at least 3 questions ready about your independent reading book. You might jot them down on a piece of notebook paper or on sticky notes. Next time we see each other I will ask you to share your questions on an online discussion board.
